Places to visit in Rishikesh



Rishikesh is famous for its yoga ashrams, ancient temples and adventure activities. It is visited by pilgrims, travelers, yoga and adventure enthusiast. On reaching Rishikesh travelers can explore various tourist attractions.

Triveni Ghat (4 km from the city center)




Triveni Ghat
Triveni Ghat is said to be the most sacred bathing spots as rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati meet here. Pilgrims take a dip in this ghat to purify them. Every evening Maha Aarti (prayer to Goddess Ganga ) is conducted between 6 pm to 7 pm. One feels very alive and relaxed after attending the prayers.        





Lakshman Jhula (7 km from the city center)


Lakshman Jhula
Lakshman Jhula (bridge) is 450 feet long and is 70 feet above the river. It connects the villages Tapovan and Jonk . It is said that Lord Laksham younger brother of Lord Ram crossed the river Ganga from the same site. Tourist can visit Tera Manzil temple, Lakshman temple, Ram jhula and the market near the bridge.

Ram Jhula (bridge) is 750 feet long which connects Shivananda Nagar to Swargashram. Various religious ashrams are situated on both sides of the river. Visitors can get a beautiful view of river Ganga and the surroundings from the bridge.

A beautiful fall is reached by trekking around 1 km through the forest and down the cliff. Visitors can take a dip into the cool water after the trek.
