Gahat Ke Parathe Recipe





Serves 4, Time Taken 50 minutes

Ingredients

1 cup Gahat (Horse Gram)
1 cup Whole Wheat Flour
1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
½ teaspoon Red Chili Powder
2 chopped Green Chilies
1 inch grated Ginger (Adarak)  
Few chopped Curry Leaves
Salt as per taste
Refined Oil
Water

How to make Gahat Ke Parathe

Step 1

Soak the gahat overnight. Pressure cook the gahat for 5 whistles. Separate the water from the gahat and grind to make a paste of it.

Step 2

Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, grated ginger, chopped green chilies, chopped curry leaves and salt and mix it well with the gahat paste to make the filling.

Step 3

Knead wheat flour, water and salt to make soft dough.

Step 4

Heat the oil in a non stick pan. Take a small portion of the dough and slightly flatten it and fill it with gahat filling. Now make it round and then again flatten it into a round shape and place it into the pan. Cook both sides till it turns slight brown. Make as many portions as required

Once ready put ghee and serve it with a side dish.
