Corona virus has turned out to be one of the worst epidemics in the human world which has stopped almost all human activities around the world. Isolation from the outer world has been so sudden and so drastic that the animals have started appearing at places which was once just for and occupied by mean humans and their vehicles.

The corona
virus has spread to around 200 countries in the world mainly due to the intelligent
humans not able to understand a very simple way to suppress corona virus is by just
isolating themselves. The spread has lead to the death of around 40,000 people
and 8,60,000 people found positive of the virus and the meter is still running.
The majorly hit countries are Italy, Spain, USA, France, China and Iran. In
India the total cases are around 1600 and the deaths are around 45.
The virus
has badly affected the businesses around the world bringing them to a
standstill lowering the supply and demand cycle. The revenues and working
capital are decreasing which could lead to businesses going bankrupt leaving
millions jobless.
The worst
hit are the poor, unemployed and the daily wage workers. With total lockdown at
place, with no wages they are facing difficulty to arrange for their meals,
rents and healthcare. The governments with the help of the police and social
help from the people are making their best efforts so none of them face any
problem surviving in this difficult time.
The tourism
industry is one the worst hit due to the lockdown all over the world. If the
situation doesn’t improve corono virus would render 3.3 crore people jobless
that’s around 70% of the total workforce of 5.5 crore in Indian tourism
industry. The lockdown is impacting possible revenue of around 71 billion USD
generated by direct tourism activities and double that of total economic
activities. The whole value chain of hotels, travel agents, tour operations,
destinations, restaurants, family entertainment venues, air, land and sea
transportation have been hit.
Uttarakhand Tourism which was recently
given status of industry is also facing worst of times. It is not new to
Uttarakhand Tourism as they have previously faced the wrath of nature due to
bad weathers and floods killing many and leading to destruction of
infrastructure and decreasing revenues. Due to present lock down and future
cancellations the whole value chain of hotels, travel agents, tour operations,
destinations, restaurants, family entertainment venues, air and land transportation have been hit. The government has banned all tourism activities
till the situation is safe. The present focus is on stopping the spread of
corona virus and save lives.
Presently
many jokes are running on social media sites stating how difficult it is to
stay locked at home. People who have turned them
into social animals, workaholic machines, achieving daily targets in their
profession are having difficulty coping with such a situation. They are kind of
confused how to keep themselves busy in their homes. People who once loved
there tech gadgets are now bored of them.
I follow Buddha Teachings and I
think the teachings have helped me during these times. I have learnt how not to
be attached to materialistic life, accept changes and how to evolve accordingly.
I have learnt how to keep calm and stay focused. Though the situation that we
are in is unwanted but we should take it as an opportunity to spend time on
your own or with your families.
People should
spend this time positively by reassessing themselves; improve relationship with
their families and to do activities of their interest. There are many
activities that one can do as per their interest like creating and providing
important information in social media, qualified persons can help by talking to
people undergoing stress over the phone, cooking, gardening, reading, writing, making
videos, making websites, creating music, creating art, yoga, meditating and
exercising.
Hope people
get cured soon and spreading of corona virus stops and we emerge out of this
situation as a better human being.
